Term 2 Book Review - Be ready to present after week 12!

Hello!
You have another book review this term. This time, you need to choose a NONFICTION book. You should choose something you're interested in or something you would like to learn. I'm currently reading a book called Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions. It's really cool! I even read it to my son.

Please choose a book by Wednesday, 27th November and upload a photo of it to Google Classroom so I can approve it.

I have gone over the book review several times this term. Today, I did my review of the book Holes. It seemed to be helpful.

Remember:
- Don't read directly from a PowerPoint or your planning sheet
- If you make a PowerPoint, don't use too many slides - you can show your book cover and a few more slides, but make sure it's not too long
- Make eye contact
- Relax: just tell us about your book in your own words
- Speak loudly!
- Be polite when others present

This year, we have replaced the reader quizzes with book reviews. Each term, you will be  given a certain genre to read and present a review to the class. You get to pick your own book, so you won't get stuck reading a book that I give you. However, it must be appropriate for your grade. No, you cannot use Litter Queen. Or your GT reader. Sorry.

You will prepare a brief presentation about your book and present it to the class. Are you nervous? That's OK! It doesn't have to be perfect, but I would like you to put effort into this. The more you present in front of others, the easier it becomes.

This will count as 10 marks towards your English grade. I will give you more information in class, as well as an organizer to help you plan your presentation.
